DC Senate Concludes Historic Inaugural ABA Season with Winning Debut and Rapid Growth

Washington, DC — March, 2026.

The DC Senate has officially wrapped its inaugural 2025–2026 season in the American Basketball Association (ABA), marking a historic return of ABA basketball to the nation’s capital.

Founded in January 2025, DC Senate quickly established itself as the only ABA team representing Washington, DC. After registering in the league earlier this year, the organization signed its first player in September–October 2025 and made its official season debut in October.

On November 8, 2025, DC Senate made history in front of its home crowd with its first-ever game — a decisive victory against the Philadelphia Thunder.

“This season was about proving that DC deserves a strong ABA presence again,” said Tracy Pulliam, Founder of DC Senate. “From day one, our vision has been to create opportunities for players and bring high-level basketball back to our community. Our first win at home showed that we’re here to compete.”

Since its founding, the team has grown to a 12-player roster, building a competitive foundation while strengthening ties with the local basketball community.

Building Opportunity Beyond the Court

DC Senate was created with a dual mission:

  • To provide talented players (ages 17–25) with a platform to compete professionally and gain exposure to higher-level opportunities.
  • To give local businesses and community partners meaningful engagement through sports sponsorship and in-game visibility.

As the team closes its first season, leadership is already preparing for expansion.

Looking Ahead: 2026–2027 Season

This summer, DC Senate will focus on:

  • Recruiting additional high-level players
  • Expanding community outreach initiatives
  • Launching official team merchandise
  • Growing sponsorship partnerships across the DC and Mid-Atlantic region

The organization’s goal is to solidify DC Senate as a premier semi-professional basketball brand while continuing to create pathways for athletes and economic opportunities for local businesses.

“We’re just getting started,” added [Founder Name]. “Year one proved the model works. Now we’re focused on scaling responsibly, strengthening our community presence, and building a championship culture.”
